Our Tour Guides are selected for their extensive local knowledge and their passion for our beautiful and culturally diverse city. They will share with you unforgettable experiences and show you some of the most breathtaking and magnificent scenery in British Columbia. Guides who are fluent in several languages are available on request (languages spoken include English, Spanish, German, Portuguese and French).

José was born in the city of Puebla (Mexico) and immigrated to Canada in 2002. During his very successful career with Canada’s top luxury tour operator, José noticed an opportunity to offer first class tours coupled with outstanding service in the Vancouver area. Evergreen Adventures was born! José established his own private sightseeing tour business focused on customer needs. “It was a natural fit, I knew I could bring something to the table that didn’t exist in the city; luxury vehicles, the best tour guides and drivers in the city, proper uniforms and outstanding food made by gourmet Chef Marianne”. José , who is fluent in English and Spanish, loves spending time with his beautiful family; Marianne, an exceptional wife and mother and his two energetic boys Sebastian and Esteban.

Born and raised in Puebla (Mexico) Marianne was already showing her culinary inclination at the age of five, when she surprised her parents by ordering “escargots” at a restaurant. By the age of 15, she had developed a full-fledged passion for good food and knew that she wanted to study the culinary arts. Upon graduating from the Mexican Culinary Institute where she specialized in International Cooking, Marianne completed her apprenticeship at the top hotels and restaurants in Mexico. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 2002. Her culinary philosophy and passion reflect the current trend towards a healthy and balanced diet. Working with local farmers to seek out the finest in regional and organic produce is the essence of her cuisine.
Marianne Schivy

Fluent in both English and German he spent 20 years in the real estate industry before health issues led him to discover a different way of life through Permaculture Design. A system of agricultural and social design principles centered around simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems to make sustainable and long lasting decisions for people and the planet. Frank loves to share his love of nature and unique perspective of Vancouver with guests from around the world.

Enrique has 26 years experience as a tour guide and he excels at developing unique custom tours for visiting guests. He loves traveling throughout Canada and sharing this passion with our clients. Enrique speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. Enrique and his beloved wife have two adult children, both raised in Vancouver.

Barry Stutz

Growing up in the mountains of Switzerland, it came time for Barry to learn English after learning German, French and Italian in school which brought him to Vancouver many moons ago …..and of course he fell in love with this great city and never left. He ended up working in sporting goods with a focus on skiing which allowed him to also pursue his passion of travelling and working in tourism in the summer months. Over the past 30 years, guiding along the coast of North America including Alaska and specializing in the Rocky Mountain Corridor from Calgary to Vancouver Island, he always enjoys sharing his passion for outdoor activities by guiding canoeing, hiking, biking, skiing and horseback riding coupled with sharing his strong interest in cultural and natural history.

She found the proximity to oceans and mountains irresistible and has enjoyed many of the sports that the city and environments have to offer – hiking, biking, skiing and sailing. Over the years, she played “tour guide” to many family and friends when they visited Vancouver, and entered the Hospitality and Tourism Industry in the late ‘80s. In addition to teaching at the local Tourism Colleges, her background is in planning and managing onsite meetings and conferences, both locally and around the world. As a Tour Director, she has accompanied groups across Canada and the US, and also to China, Japan, Tahiti, Costa Rica, Mexico, Cuba, the Caribbean, Italy, Greece and the UK. With this perspective, she has learned what interests and excites people when they travel to another country and now she strives to create exceptional experiences for the guests she guides around Vancouver.

Mariella was born and raised in Vancouver. She has travelled extensively throughout Australia, Europe, USA and Mexico, where she lived for 12 years. She moved back 6 years ago and is happy to be a part of the Evergreen Team. She enjoys travelling, photography and coffee.
